Minnesota zoo marketing and sales internship

I assisted in the coordination and setup of private and public Zoo events including the 8th annual Brew at the Zoo event. I also helped manage the Zoos social media platforms which included Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.  Below are examples of my work:

Zoo events

In addition to daily events at the Zoo, there were many extra events to take part in at the Zoo and in the Twin Cities area. Some of these included Adult Night Out at the Zoo, Brew at the Zoo, and events supporting the Zoos program to support endangered butterflies. It was important to advertise these events on a regular basis to promote attendance expecially near the day of the event.

Animal HIghlights

With the animals at the Zoo being the main draw forvisitors and followers, a majority of of posts included animals which are at the Minnesota Zoo. These posts were usually providing updates on animals at the zoo, animal events which were that day, or just a fun post with a great picture. All the pictures were provided by Zoo Photographers or submitted photos from photographers in the area.

Zoo Videos

In addition to still images, several videos were posted to the Minnesota Zoo accounts which helped bring followers through several of the trails and visit some of the animals at the Zoo. I worked as a team with our Zoo Photographers to brainstorm ideas and establish shots which would work well the the social post.

Dinosaurs!  and pokemon at the minnesota zoo

The summer of 2016 saw the return of the temporary Dinosaurs! exhibit to the Minnesota Zoo. There was also the release of the popular mobile game Pokemon Go which offered created many Poke Stops and Gym in Zoos across the country. Both of these attractions made for a lot of interesting content only seen at the Minnesota Zoo.
